James showed full support to make this happen at the patient's bedside, and with their two children as witnesses. James was able to establish a “special professional connection” with the patient and family.
James has been great, and very attentive to my dad. Always cares for our needs and was a great contributor to my mom and dad's hospital wedding. He is very caring and a great asset to the hospital. My dad has had previous nurses, and no one here has been as attentive and communicative as him. Always kept us updated and always cares for our comfort. He is so kind and generous and on top of all his duties. Keep up the great work and help make other patients’ lives great during their time at the hospital.

James Sobieski, who is currently on first-day clinicals, is assigned to a patient together with his coach. James had been having a great experience so far and doing his best to provide good quality care for his patient. The patient had been married via civil wedding all these years and requested to renew their vows and decided this time to get married in front of a priest while admitted on the unit. James showed full support to make this happen at the patient's bedside, and with their two children as witnesses. James was able to establish a “special professional connection” with the patient and family. He also modeled “empathy, compassion and demonstrated a caring attitude toward the wish of a critically-ill patient.” James Sobieski made a difference that cannot be ignored in a life of a patient by “going above and beyond the call of duty.” His nursing attitude and behavior should be modeled and should serve as an inspiration to all nurses, new and old.”

James was hired for 4B and started his county journey in April. He boarded on 6B prior to the ICU/Core Critical Care Program which he recently successfully passed. Although I have only known James for 2 ½ months, I have witnessed his caring, kind, compassionate and thoughtful nature. He brings joy and just good energy daily, which probably means he sleeps really well too. He is attentive to his patients, patients' families, and colleagues as well. He naturally provides customer service to all, by willingly jumping at the opportunity to help. He encourages us all by his example and of course, through his generosity by often bringing pastries for all the staff.

Some fun facts about James… his interests include rock climbing, tennis, computer science, and skiing. He also has solid experience with Emergency Medical Services and public safety, as a National Registry EMT (NREMT) provider he has completed interesting courses on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care and Firefighter 2. Additionally, he is Wilderness EMT (WEMT) certified, which tells me he loves the outdoors. And when the time comes, he aspires for CCRN certification.

Today is a true testament that nursing care at any level is so impactful, whether new in one’s career or seasoned. We can and do make a difference for patients and one another! Huge congratulations James, well deserved, and we are fortunate to have you representing our institution.
