Morgan is a nurse who, as well as providing excellent medical care, routinely goes above and beyond for her patients. She writes out birth stories on special cards, ensures a comfortable environment with her personal lighting/sound systems, and aids her patients in their labor with a wide variety of coping techniques. (Massages, rebozo application, just to name a couple). She is an absolute team player who is always ready with a "Hey friend! Need some help?".
There is one story in particular that I believe is a perfect example of her work ethic. One night L/D was called to assist ICU with a patient who'd experienced a fetal demise. Although this patient was no longer on our unit, Morgan went way out of her way to ensure that the patient still had everything available to her in regard to her late baby, despite being in the ICU. She assisted in taking and printing pictures, creating a memory box, hunting down and finding an item of memory for the patient to keep, and setting up the cuddle cot so the patient could be with her baby for as long as she needed. Without her continued dedication to providing an optimal patient healing experience, especially in such a sensitive situation, this particular patient would have suffered for it.
