During our darkest hour, a shining light appeared, Aprille. As we sobbed over the diagnosis of our 3 year old, Aprille was at our side calmly talking to us, and walking us through every process she was doing. She listened to our fears - constantly reassuring us. When the big moment came for our 3 year old to separate from us, and be wheeled into surgery, Aprille assured us that she would take her the entire way. While we waited in the surgery waiting area, Aprille appeared. She told us she talked to P the entire way to surgery, keeping her calm. She then helped us move our things from PICU to 4K. Everyone we have come in contact with at the hospital has been amazing - always kind with smiling eyes - but during the worst moment of our lives, Aprille's calm and warm presence was reassurance that we not only had our daughter in the right hospital but gave us hope that she was going to make it!
