Kate Burke is an amazing RN. When I arrived at the L&D triage unit with high blood pressure and a labor check, Kate was the first person to give me care. She was extremely kind, supportive, and calming. Being only 36 weeks pregnant at the time I was very nervous to deliver my baby earlier than expected. Kate was able to calm me down and reassure me that I was in the best possible location to have this baby. Kate when on to care for me until her shift was over that day.

The next morning I had Kate as my nurse again. She was there for me when my water broke and was one of my biggest support persons in the room. I had a very bad headache that would not go away with anything we tried and Kate even went above and beyond and went down to the cafeteria on her break and got me a Coke Zero to see if the caffeine would help eliminate the headache.

As the day progressed my labor seemed to have come to a halt and I was feeling very sick, overwhelmed, and tired. The doctor wanted to wait until the next day to do any intervention. Kate was a huge advocate for me and made me feel reassured that my wanting a C-section was a wise choice. Her shift was about over but she stayed with us a little after her shift to see that my baby girl and I were healthy and safe. She even talked to my primary ob-gyn who I believe was about to leave the building for the day and got her to do my C-section.

Kate is not only an amazing nurse but also just a great human. She is the definition of an excellent healthcare provider. Truly a one-of-a-kind nurse. Thank you Kate for your lifetime impact on me and my family. We are forever grateful to you!!
