Mark showed compassion for him and encouraged him every day to 'keep on'.
Mark has been my husband's nurse in two stays in rehab at East Cooper Rehab. The first stay was for 16 days due to a broken femur since my husband had suffered a stroke that affected his left side. The break on the right leg made it extremely difficult for his therapy sessions. Plus he had been in the hospital for 10 days prior to rehab. He had hospital delirium and was not in a great state of mind.
Mark showed compassion for him and encouraged him every day to 'keep on'. Mark was there for him in every way, always telling him that he would be okay. My husband told me that Mark gave him the support he needed. The stay goes on because my husband came home, but a few weeks later developed issues that brought another hospital stay at East Cooper. Mark saw that he was back in the hospital and made a special visit to see him. He was instrumental in uplifting our spirits.
We got back in rehab for our next stay. I cannot thank Mark enough for his support. One day, I came into rehab and Mark noticed that I was having a meltdown. He sat down with me and told me not to worry. Things will be okay and would work out. He told me that I need to not feel guilty and needed to take care of myself as well. Thanks to Mark, my husband and I felt better. Mark was always there to get whatever we needed. His quiet easy manner made us feel calm and more hopeful. Thank you, Mark! For being an excellent nurse as well as a compassionate one.
