Vanessa Harris was caring for a Hospice patient and found out the patient would reach for her husband through the night for comfort and they were missing this interaction, so she decided to make sure they had that while they were in our care. Vanessa positioned the patient's bed next to the couch that was in the room. She made sure that while they slept, they were able to reach one another. Other staff followed Vanessa's lead in making this woman's last days as comfortable as possible.
