Katie was phenomenal! The moment she walked into the room she was happy to see/meet us. She has a skill for talking to patients and still doing her job. She put my husband at ease right away! While she managed his pain, she also eased his mind. Making sure he could ask any questions he had. She helped me understand everything! When you do something every day it becomes common or routine. As a family member, who doesn’t have a medical background, she talked to me about what to expect and what is normal. She also showed me how to find videos to help with our situation, like medication, education, going home, spine surgery info, etc. She put us at ease and made us feel like family members! She was VERY aware of what to say and when. She brought a “light” with her whenever she came into the room. She goes above and beyond the “normal” duties. An exceptional nurse picks up on the little things through the eyes of the patient and their family. Like a good waitress will ask if you want another drink, whereas a great waitress will just bring the refill and ask if you would like a take-home cup. It may seem small, but it really mattered. Do what you can to keep her. She is worth it!
