Her love, passion, silence, and words of wisdom got me to look and touch what I feared.
I appreciate and respect Digna for all the work she does. Even when we were frustrated during a mastectomy, she made a difference. I learned that Digna has worked here at Englewood Health for more than 30 years. It is evident by how she handles crises, emotional patients, and family members – specifically, patients diagnosed and treated for breast cancer and who have had to undergo total mastectomy.

On leadership rounds she is complimented by all her patients, but here is feedback from some: “Digna got me through my tearful moment this morning when I had to look at my breast incision and empty my drains. I cried, and she sat on my bed and held my hand. Her love, passion, silence, and words of wisdom got me to look and touch what I feared. Dealing with this diagnosis is not easy, but having such a caring and compassionate nurse made all the difference. I am so grateful that I chose Englewood Health for my surgery”.

“Having both breasts taken off has been overwhelming for me and my family, but your nurse, Digna, is phenomenal. She stands out more than anyone else. She is an amazing human being. She provided education on how to care for my breast incisions and drains better than I could have expected. She let me know that I am braver and stronger than I think and that I shouldn’t let being diagnosed with breast cancer cause me to forget my worth and how beautiful I am. She also gave me a beautiful discharge bag with 'Heal the Soul' on it. She made sure all our questions were answered and didn’t mind repeating the information. I felt like I was the only person in the world the way she took her time to explain everything. She had me walking by the time I was discharged. A lot of my fears were alleviated. She is selfless, caring, and a beautiful soul; she is thoughtful. I found great strength having her care for me. Thank you, Digna, for getting me through a difficult time having a bilateral mastectomy. Your support made a difference”.
