Today we had the opportunity to take care of one of our own here at WB. I will not mention any names, but the patient had a CT scan done and was very nervous. So nervous in fact that extra medication had to be given to complete the exam. The patient was aware of the medications that are given for this scan and was so nervous that her nurse stayed in the room with the person to push medications and to monitor them during the CT. The patient was very grateful for the special attention and voiced this to me. They stated that they were outstanding and impressed by their care. The person even asked me staffing numbers because they feel that this team should be treated with a lunch or something for the special care and attention they received. Now I know this is coming from one of our own, but this is a wonderful compliment coming from a healthcare professional. Our nurses see a variety of patients, but when a person you know comes through, sees the care that is provided, then comments on it about them. I cannot think of any better compliment to a team. With raising Covid rates, the changes being brought forward, and the addition of new team members, this just goes to show that we have wonderful nurses and that it reflects in the care they provide. You are amazing, and I appreciate all you do every day.
