Patrick is the very definition of all that the DAISY Award embodies. He was so kind and caring and went above and beyond to make me feel like my grandmother was in the best of hands in his care. He not only provided me with updates that were detailed and easy to understand but took the time to offer me support as well, without my telling him; he understood the struggle I was feeling by not being able to be there with my grandmother who was in isolation. He was very uplifting to us both and was able to get her up and eat lunch and even watch a football game later that day. He took the time to help her call me.

It was our last conversation and we ended on such a good note. I had the best feeling knowing she had perked up from the day before. Patrick just made me feel at ease about things even though things were less than ideal for my grandmother. I didn't realize it would be our last conversation, but I am forever grateful to him for giving us that moment. He was also great the following day to call me when she took a turn and again was very supportive and very honest about the situation. He also reached out to my uncle to be sure he was there with her when she passed as I live 10 hours away. I truly feel like he was our angel for those 2 days, and it was meant to be that Patrick was her nurse till the end. I wanted to be sure that he is recognized for his excellent care and compassion.
