She probably has no clue how much her kind gesture of letting me spend a few moments with my mom while she was in recovery, positively impacted me and my mom.
My mother has been sick for so many years, so we have had our fair share of hospital stays. Every now and then, we get a nurse who is compassionate, thorough, and empathetic. Today, Tammy was that nurse. Unbeknownst to Tammy, my mom's struggles have become increasingly harder...harder to cope with and harder to remain encouraged. She probably has no clue how much her kind gesture of letting me spend a few moments with my mom while she was in recovery, positively impacted me and my mom. We have always been extremely close (she has my kidney), and we needed that connection, if only for a few moments. Even afterward, Tammy made sure to call and update me on everything she had for my mom and where she would be going next. Something that shouldn't be a foreign concept in a hospital but unfortunately, has turned into a rarity. On behalf of myself and my mother, I want to say "thank you" to Tammy. We want her to know that what she does makes a difference in people's lives! I am grateful for her dedication to people.
