Maggie provided such care and concern for my grandmother during her stay in the ICU. Maggie was so understanding, patient, accommodating, and kind. She listened to every concern and answered questions to the best of her ability, without making me feel like I was a disturbance. Maggie asked questions to check for my understanding and was compassionate during the hardest time I’ve had to face. I appreciated Maggie’s willingness to do the little things to make me feel comfortable, by allowing us to play music for my grandmother, allowing my daughter to place her hand-drawn poster outside of my grandmother’s room for people to “sign with love”, and allowing my family all the time we needed to say goodbye.

Maggie and her team of nurses provided around-the-clock care to keep my grandmother comfortable and well cared for, to the point of perspiration. She worked so hard to keep my grandmother alive, providing a delicate balance of medications to stabilize her blood pressure and heart rate. I will never forget the respect shown to my grandmother, and how she was cared for even when she was no longer aware of what was happening. Maggie made sure to keep in communication with me about her condition and was welcoming to other family members and visitors. I appreciated the synergy with the others as they all worked their various shifts to provide exceptional continuity of care.

On the morning of my grandmother’s transition, I had peace in my heart knowing that she was now in Heaven but also knowing how well she had been cared for the few days before. Maggie is an amazing nurse. I will always remember her smile, warm hugs, and love shown toward us.
