Another team member wrote Nicole a thank you card, and in that card, she said Nicole "oozes compassion." I thought this was a beautiful and impactful description of Nicole and her approach to nursing and supporting our building as a charge nurse. As someone who has been entrusted with the care of others (both patients and staff), you hope that compassion is felt through your actions, words, and presence.

In this case, Nicole's compassion precedes her and she is a go-to resource for both patients and staff. I have seen Nicole advocating for patients to get the care they need and committing to doing what's right, even when it's not the most convenient thing to do. As a fierce advocate, she's also able to maintain a professional and kind demeanor that allows her to be very approachable to others who are collaborating on an issue. I'd like to end the nomination with one more quote from another staff member Nicole supported.

Again, I think it's a beautiful description of Nicole's presence and her commitment to consistently showing up, and showing up with kindness: "I just wanted you to know your hard work does not go unnoticed; you show up with a smile daily for our patients and team. You're always willing to stop and help me with whatever it is I may need help with and never make me feel like it's not important.
