He always goes above and beyond what his job entails. He always makes me feel at ease and special. I am not just a number.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March or April 2021. Consequently, I had to undergo chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody treatment at the oncology infusion department. I’ve been coming to this department for over a year. Now 90% of the time I’ve been assigned to Nurse Paul (Kyou Kang). Everyone in this department has been outstanding and I have no complaints at all. However, Nurse Paul has consistently provided me with great care. He always goes above and beyond what his job entails. He always makes me feel at ease and special. I am not just a number. He remembers my preferences from having a pillow to bringing my own special band-aid because I get rashes with other kinds. I know that this might seems inconsequential. However, when you are going through a lot of treatment a little rash seems like another thing that I have to deal with. A nuisance. Paul has been a constant in my ever-changing, unpredictable disease and treatment. He provides me with the utmost care and professionalism. He always has been humble, personable, and considerate. During this ordeal, I had two allergic reactions to chemo and I can say because of Paul's swift action and sense of urgency, I am still alive today. My husband also said he feels at ease when Paul is providing my treatment.
