I went to the VA Hospital ER because I was having chest pain. The ER staff were very professional and got me in very quickly. After an EKF and consulting with the doctor, it was decided that I would be admitted for observation. I was admitted to 6 East, and upon my arrival, I was met by RN Verano-Oani. She was very professional and made me feel at ease. She explained the plan and got me hook-up to a Holter monitor. She took my vitals and then got me something to eat. I had missed lunch.

Throughout the afternoon she consistently checked on me outside of the scheduled rounds time. She made sure that I was able to order dinner before she went off shift.

Verano-Oani came to discuss the plan for the morning. She followed up with the doctors and nuclear medicine to ensure I was scheduled for a stress test. She kept me updated throughout and made sure I was calm. I told her about my anxiety when I visit the hospital. I also wanted to go home as soon as possible. She ensured I was calm until I got the results of the test. I am truly thankful she was there to keep me calm throughout. She is a credit to the nursing staff and the VA
