Having a nurse like her, who not only takes care of your health but uplifts your spirits, makes all the difference in helping the healing process.
I was brought to the hospital by my wife in a critical condition with bacterial meningitis. I was incoherent, severely agitated, severely dehydrated, and had a multitude of associated medical problems. I was admitted to the ECU & by this time I was struggling to breathe and my vital signs were deteriorating. She not only took excellent care of me and ensured that I was safe and being medically managed, but she also took the time to comfort my distraught wife who had accompanied me.
It was decided that I had to be sedated and placed on a ventilator and she assisted the doctor with professionalism and care as the procedures were completed. She supported me and my wife as I was eventually transported to ICU, staying at all times calm and caring even though she was by now several hours late in finishing her shift.
Almost two weeks later I was much improved and transferred back to the ECU. Again, she has proved herself to be an excellent nurse - responsive, thoughtful, and efficient. She has epitomized care from the heart and has taken care of me, listened patiently to my multitude of questions, answered all of them, and really gone out of her way to provide everything that I have asked for. Even on the busiest of days, she has not failed to ensure that I felt safe and supported at all times.
When patients such as myself are so ill and vulnerable, having a nurse like her, who not only takes care of your health but uplifts your spirits, makes all the difference in helping the healing process. I felt blessed that she was my caregiver and I am sure that other patients will have seen the same quality of care as I experienced. I cannot thank her enough for helping to save my life when I was admitted and for the superb level of aftercare that she provided. She is a wonderful nurse who deserves to be formally recognized.
