It would be impossible to put into words just how much Lauren has impacted our family. Lauren took care of my sister-in-law that was a police officer, for many days while she was in the med surg ICU. She is the absolute most compassionate and dedicated nurse I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Lauren was a breath of fresh air during the most unimaginable time in my family's lives. She took exceptional care of not only my sister-in-law but the entire family. Her actions demonstrate how truly she cared about how we were doing while helping us all through this time.

I’ve placed a photo with this nomination because it speaks volumes about the kind of nurse Lauren is. The photo is of Lauren and my sister-in-law’s fiance during a makeshift wedding ceremony of which Lauren was the ultimate wedding planner. She made my sister who was “Just Married” to her unconscious and intubated bride, smile and laugh. I share this because none of us as a family were able to make her smile or laugh. I could go on and on about the difference that Lauren made for us as I know she does for other patients and families every day. We will never be able to thank her enough for what she did for the entire family. Despite this tragedy, she made this experience a special memory for all of us and especially my sister. She is everything and more than what the DAISY Award is all about. Lauren, You are an Angel!
