Kayla Williamson epitomizes the meaning of the DAISY Award. She is committed to the patient experience, quality care, and team member safety. Kayla recently became a nurse manager and has quickly worked to change a culture to provide an environment where nurses and patients can thrive. She encourages and supports her team to pursue meaningful PI projects to improve team dynamics and enhance quality initiatives. Morale has significantly improved in the Family Beginnings unit thanks to Kayla’s initiatives. She is one of the greatest role models for her team. She advocates for her patients and team members. In addition, Kayla takes the time to truly listen to her team and understand their needs to provide outstanding patient care. Kayla’s energy around nursing is contagious. Knowing her makes me want to be a better person and nurse.
