Danelle came out to the waiting room with everything from blankets to tissues to dry our tears.
My husband’s father had triple bypass heart surgery. He was not your average patient. He was at risk for post-op issues due to his history and other circumstances. He developed fluid in his lungs which required a bedside procedure followed by being put on a ventilator. Our family decided to stay the night based on what was occurring. Danelle came out to the waiting room with everything from blankets to tissues to dry our tears. She continuously was giving us updates even when no changes had occurred. She also allowed us to see him after his bedside procedure even though visiting hours had passed. This allowed us to have peace of mind and ease some of our worries.
She cared for him with an abundance of compassion and kindness. She cared for us by answering all of our questions in great detail. She broke things down for us to give us a full and simple understanding of everything that was going on with him. She constantly made sure he was positioned comfortably despite the fact that he wouldn’t really know if he was comfortable due to the fact that he was sedated. She made sure he was bathed before her shift ended at 7 am.
The second night we stayed and she continued to provide us with information. She spoke to us in a soft, kind, and compassionate manner. She was knowledgeable in her skill set and also on dad’s condition every step of the way. Her compassionate nature, kind-heartedness, and devotion to dad’s care did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We looked forward to seeing her and receiving her updates and although we had many worries she was there every step of the way. This made our sleepless worrisome nights a little more tolerable. She deserves the DAISY recognition for her amazing wonderful hard work and devotion she showed to not only dad, but us.
