She listened, and she made us feel like we were the only patient and family members she had. She made my dad very comfortable with his bathroom issues. Most impressive was she stayed way past her shift to complete her job; that’s caring for Veterans. In a follow-up call, she shared the following addition: I would have loved to have been able to get off work to attend the ceremony. Susan was one of the most caring people. You could tell it wasn’t just a job for her and that she really cared for people. I stayed with dad from his admission to his discharge.
