Mrs. Annie goes above and beyond for her patients and her co-workers. She is willing to stay late, pick up extra call shifts and take extra patients even when it’s not her turn. She makes sure our unit is stocked with supplies, checks the crash carts every morning and makes sure we have plenty of PCA and IV Pumps to get us through our work day. She literally never sits down because she is always finding ways to keep busy. But no matter how busy she may be, it never takes away from the care she gives her patients. She has a warm, nurturing personality that makes all of her patients feel safe as they are waking up from anesthesia. If I were to ever have surgery, I would absolutely want Annie to recover me.

I was going to miss a family event due to me being on call on a Sunday and I was not able to find anyone to take my call because it was a weekend. That Sunday, Mrs. Annie called me as soon as she got out of church to tell me she could come in and finish my call so I could make my family event. She is the definition of selfless and I aspire to be half the person and nurse that she is.
