Niki was my nurse one night when I had a bad day emotionally. I let it all out and started crying and told her how frustrated I was and that I really want to go home, I miss my kids, and being alone in a hospital all day starts to get to your mental state. Niki pulled up a chair and listened to everything I cried about. She didn’t make me feel like I was being hysterical, but made me feel like she truly cared about my sadness. She even helped me understand some of the doctor's reports on the portal. We ended up going for a walk and we laughed and talked and she never once made me feel like I was a burden to her. She didn’t leave my side until I calmed down. Niki was just the person I needed to get it all out and feel better and not so isolated. I am forever thankful to her.
