Kristi not only takes excellent care of her patients, but she also takes good care of other staff and their patients. When staff asks for help she is always willing to jump in. For example, an ortho nurse got pulled to 6AB for four hours. When he came on to his shift one of his patients needed to be put on oxygen and his lung sounds had crackles. He was nervous and had not taken care of a patient like this before. Kristi helped him right away and got him in contact with the patient's hospitalist. She also called the circulating nurse to come help. To help put an extra pep in his step, she went downstairs and got him a soda. She continued to check on the ortho nurse and his patient throughout the shift. She helped guide him through a brand-new experience and made sure he and the patient were taken care of. She truly is an inspiration and an excellent guide for all staff. We are lucky to have her on our team at Sanford.
