Ashley represents everything this award is intended to recognize and foster in a nurse leader. She is a creative leader who approaches a problem with optimism, curiosity and a “can do” attitude. There is never a challenge that Ashley is not ready to take on and she will always go above and beyond to find the right solution through engaging the right people in the process and always having what is right for the patient, family and/or staff involved in mind.

Ashley’s primary focus as a leader is to improve maternal & newborn outcomes and ensure her staff are engaged and supported in a healthy work environment. She is an authentic leader who “walks the talk” in fostering a patient care and work environment that is safe, healing and rewarding. Ashley has led her team to many achievements and accolades such as Newsweek Best Maternity Hospital of 2022 and Perinatal Care Certification by the Joint Commission. She supported and led her nursing team in several interprofessional research projects such as ERAS and the most current research on Patient and staff satisfaction and confidence in a continuous wearable monitor to detect respiratory depression following neuraxial opioid use for postoperative pain relief after cesarean section.

Ashley is very passionate with strong leadership skills who advocates for optimal quality outcomes and positions herself as a leader in maternal healthcare. Her work is about serving others and improving maternity care and the patient experience for all who enter our facility. It is an honor and privilege to work with such a wonderful person.
