The patient was also a diabetic and Courtney ensured staff was able to check the patient's blood sugar and receive adequate care.
Courtney stepped up and used her cross-training to intake to help admit a patient when Oconto ED was unavailable to do the assessment. Although Courtney is cross-trained to intake, she does not work there frequently. The patient was waiting several hours in the lobby. Courtney went above and beyond to get this patient back to the unit. The patient was also a diabetic and Courtney ensured staff was able to check the patient's blood sugar and receive adequate care.
Courtney always puts her patients first; she is truly compassionate and empathetic. While Courtney was doing the assessment, M came to the adult unit to help with the nightly medication pass. Adult Unit is not M's unit, but she still took the time to help out. M already had a busy night but did not hesitate to step up and help out. Both of these RNs stepped outside of their normal units and helped to ensure a high level of patient care. M and Courtney are two amazing nurses and great assets to BPC.

Thank you for providing me with such exceptional care throughout my stay at Bellin. I know I’m not always the easiest or most fun patient to work with but you provided me with stellar care nonetheless. During my stay, I had lots of highs and lots of lows. More lows than highs. It was extremely comforting to have somebody by my side through both my highs and lows. Celebrating my highs with me and supporting me through my lows. It meant a lot to me. Thank you! You helped bring out a part of me I didn’t know I had! Happiness, joy, laughter energy, and smiles. To you, you were just doing your job. To me, you were much more than a nurse. To me, you reminded me what life is about. You brought out a piece of me that enjoys life and finds joy in day-to-day life. Thank you! Thank you for going above your job title.
