Melissa Ballard has been so helpful to me, not only medically, or professionally, but she did it with a lot of patience and kindness from the heart. I’ve been through so much and I couldn’t have done it without her or had such a smooth and fast recovery to where I am now. Since I’m deaf, she put time and effort into helping me with a lot of my communication barriers while at the hospital. She helped me with phone calls and special needs and helped keep my spirits up and my frustrations down at a low level. She’s so sweet and thoughtful. She would even go the extra mile to get orange juice to help me feel better. She surely knows how to put a smile and laugh on my face. She checked to make sure I had everything I needed before she left at the end of her shifts. She even stayed on top of everything by making sure the team and the paperwork were current and up to date. She even took extra time to help explain my situation to the medical staff so I could understand better. She helped keep me in the loop of things since I can’t hear everything. She helped me a great deal through my trauma and didn’t let me go through it alone, especially with very limited family visits or contacts due to the COVID policy. I couldn’t have asked for a better nurse than Melissa. I want to extend my best wishes and thanks from the bottom of my heart for all she does!
