The worst day of my life. My husband and I went for a routine OB appointment only to be told our baby had no heartbeat. We were sent straight to labor & delivery for an evaluation where we were advised labor would be induced and I would have to deliver my stillborn baby. 53 hours later, he was born. All were kind and considerate, but three nurses stood out.

These nurses went above and beyond for my family in their own special way. These women truly embody what it means to be a nurse. My experience would not have been what it was had it not been for these nurses. Cassie Heern arranged the care of our baby with the funeral home. She made the process painless as possible for us. Her bright personality reminded us that life will go on. Just her presence made us feel better. We will remember her as the nurse who made us smile when we felt we had nothing to smile about.
