Emily was nominated for the DAISY Award by the parent of a patient. Her nomination read: "Our daughter, who is autistic, was made to feel comfortable while being prepped for surgery. She asked a lot of questions which were answered for her at a level that she was able to understand. Her IV had some minor problems, but Emily kept on it and had things checked out for no complications during surgery. Thank you, Emily, for making our daughter’s uneasiness about having surgery so much better." Emily was shocked to receive this prestigious award, and her fellow caregivers were ecstatic for her. She is pictured in the photo submitted with a number of nurses on her team and our CNO. She was presented with the DAISY pin, Healer's Touch trophy, a bouquet of daisies, and desserts to enjoy with her surgical team.
