I went for my regularly scheduled asthma treatment injection. I have been going for over two years every two weeks, so I have come to know and love the nurses in this department. I was very weak and struggling with asthma symptoms. Unfortunately, I have come many times struggling with my asthma but not to this degree. Nurse Jennifer said hello as she always does and noticed I did not look well. She was extremely calm and compassionate as she asked me questions about how I was feeling and explained that she wanted a doctor to check me out before giving me the injection. She could tell something was wrong; however, her calmness and professionalism reassured me that everything was going to be okay. While waiting for the doctor, she did not let me out of her sight, constantly reassuring me that I was going to be okay. Once the doctor arrived, Jennifer explained what was going on and how she could tell my asthma symptoms were quite severe. Needless to say, the doctor urged me to go to the hospital immediately. The doctor called ahead so they would know I was on my way. At this time, you were not allowed to have anyone come into your visit with you, so I walked to the Allergy area instead of having my husband take me in a wheelchair. When it was time for me to leave, Nurse Jennifer went above and beyond again. She called, put me in a wheelchair, and wheeled me down to my car. She took a moment to explain things to my husband. She also let me know that anytime I need a wheelchair to let them know at the front, and someone will take me to my appointment, which was fabulous news. I sometimes suffer from social anxiety, and going out anywhere can be extremely overwhelming. Nurse Jennifer has made going to my bi-weekly visits a breeze. She is always welcoming and takes the time out of her busy schedule to let you know she cares for you. She is a compassionate, loving, and EXTRAORDINARY nurse for sure! Thank you so much, Nurse Jennifer. Thank you for making me feel I am not just a number. Your caring attitude and love for what you do shines brightly. You are truly a gem!
