Branka is a great example of what an excellent nurse should be. She is attentive to details, has excellent skills, and has great communication with patients and the team. But, most importantly, she is kind, loving, respectful, and shows compassion that goes beyond words. In the two years she has been with us, she has received multiple compliments from the families she has impacted during her care, all saying "thank you for your wonderful care" and one calling her an angel from God. Below is a note she received from a thankful family: "Dear Branka, We are SO GRATEFUL for the work you and the rest of the team did in the final days of our beloved [patient]. While [patient] was only home for a very short while before she died, your care and compassion for her, and for all of us, was deeply felt. The emotions and stress of coming to grips with losing [patient], anticipating that loss, and caring for her at home those final days were made easier by the tremendous presence, support, and honesty we received from you. "Thank you" does not convey enough our deep sense of gratitude. While it was one of the most difficult experiences, it was also beautiful in that we could, as a family, all be with [patient]. We couldn't have done it with such confidence or ease without you and the whole team. Please thank the rest of the team if you would, as EVERYONE - the evening nurses, social worker, music therapist, and home health aide (sorry, I don't know all their names) - gave us comfort, education, information, care, relief, and support in such genuine ways. We are grateful for the work you did and will always appreciate and pray for you all as you continue this hard but very important work you are doing.
