In this moment, I felt as though I had my very own mother here with me, helping me to figure it out.
Mrs. Heather took care of my twins, J, and J like they were her own. She took care of me as if I were her own as well. I was two days post-op from having twins and had just been discharged when I began to stay in the NICU with twins. My emotions were very high and out of whack. Certain body functions weren't operating correctly, and I was extremely embarrassed about the incident that occurred not once but twice during my stay. Heather really showed me support and concern. She made me feel less embarrassed or humiliated about not being able to control my bladder. She came to my rescue. She acknowledged my feelings of embarrassment by assisting me to the shower floor discreetly so I didn't have to be seen (my clothes were wet). She supplied me with the necessary items I needed to clean myself up with. In this moment, I felt as though I had my very own mother here with me, helping me to figure it out. I really appreciated that. Mrs. Heather showed me extreme care and support for me and the twins, really making this difficult time pleasant and bearable. She always checked in on me and asked if I needed something or if I was ok. I've never had any nurse be as considerate to me as Mrs. Heather was, and this was my 5th pregnancy. I have 6 children. Very outstanding! She even made me a little bed in the corner after learning I'd be staying in the NICU with twins pending waiting lists at RMDH. She was overly concerned for me and my twins, and I'm forever grateful. Thank you, Mrs. Heather!
