Emily exemplifies what it means to be a caring and compassionate nurse. She is truly a bright spot in our unit. On multiple occasions, she has gone above and beyond with her kindness toward patients. We recently had a mother transferred to our unit after a devastating loss of pregnancy. Emily provided compassionate care towards the patient and provided the mother time with the infant to grieve.

Throughout her dialysis with this patient, she brought the infant from the Women’s Tower to our main tower. Even though her very busy shifts, she did whatever she could for the mother to have time with the infant. She even created a shadow box for the patient outside of work for the mother.

Emily consistently treats patients as more than a person in a bed. She treats them as someone’s mother, father, child, etc. This is just one example of her amazing nursing care. As an extraordinary preceptor, not only is she a very skilled and qualified nurse, but she is also passionate about her job and the people around her.
