Leo is an inspirational leader who leads by example. When Leo is around, we all strive to do better for our patients. He is approachable, knowledgeable, and always finds a way to solve problems. For example, he leads the Code Blue Task Force, Behavioral Health Committee, Blood Culture, and Blood Transfusion committees, and Nursing Unit Council. He encourages staff members, from the clerks, techs, and nurses to help make changes in our department so we can improve patient care and experience. He also advises us to be more involved in performance improvement projects so we can have a say in what goes on in the department.

He is always the first to run and help a patient even during COVID. Before he leaves for the day, he will round with each staff member to ask if there is anything they need to do their job, then end with giving an elbow bump to each person. His proactive, caring, and positive attitude makes us proud to work for Kaiser. Because of our manager, Leo, the Emergency Department is a better place for us to work and serve our community. In his famous words... "Ok Team, let's get to work!".
