Michelle is one of those extraordinary nurses who have dedicated her life and skills to the care of her patients. She works on the 2nd floor in the Medicine Department in the MOB. Every day, she triages patient messages for the physicians who are away, takes care of walk-ups from the screening window, and provides support to our medical assistants and doctors.

Every day, she makes sure all the patients are taken care of and their concerns and needs are met and makes sure the messages are checked and Doctor of the Day (who covers for those physicians who are away) is supported. Her dedication to our physicians and to the work of taking care of our patients is demonstrated every day. Without her, the work is often overwhelming for the Doctor of the Day. The volume of the work she manages is large. She may cover 50-70 messages daily, in addition to helping patients who walk up to the screening window with concerns. She never gets flustered, and always has a calm, gentle demeanor that puts patients and physicians at ease.

She has earned the trust of all those working with her. I have worked here for more than 25 years and I have met so many extraordinary people dedicated to the care of patients and those they work with. Michelle is one of those extraordinary people, committed to their life’s calling.
