I am comforted to know that as I enter the latter stage of my career, there is such an amazing person and outstanding nurse such as Kalyn to continue to care for our patients and for this profession I love.
Kalyn makes the family feel cared for just as much as the patient. She is very empathetic and caring and anyone that has had her would know this. The minute we arrive she is always right there giving us an update on my dad. There have been many times that other nurses don’t update us at all. Kalyn is very professional but also makes sure that we, as a family, understand & are informed about what’s going on with my dad.

Kalyn is one of the kindest and most caring nurses I have come across in my 31 years in the profession. Kalyn shows compassion for her patients and goes out of her way to make sure the families' needs are also taken care of. She also has a very strong clinical presence in the ICU and serves as a mentor for many new and experienced nurses; she is a powerhouse at the bedside! She is always so kind and caring and supportive of not only our patients but to her colleagues as well.

Kalyn went above & beyond to make our family at ease during this difficult time in the SICU. My dad has been here for over 3 weeks (in ICU). Kalyn took care of him even though he wasn’t her patient. I noticed that she was always willing (with a smile) to help other nurses. The other nurses have been great too, but Kalyn went above, in my opinion, offering more than the standard of care.

Kalyn's consistent commitment to high quality, personalized care truly makes a difference in the patient experience. I look up to Kalyn not only as a nurse and a fine young lady, but also as a friend.

Her positive attitude. Her eager willingness to do her part as a member of our care team. If we need anything in regard to patient care, she is on it. She’s an amazing team member. Kalyn is the kind of nurse that I would want to care for me or anyone else in my family. When we come to visit my dad in the SICU & see her, we know, without a doubt, that we can breathe a little bit easier that day knowing that Kalyn is there, whether she is his nurse or not.
I have met and gotten to know hundreds of nurses over the years, and I would say that Kalyn is most definitely in the top 10 of the best nurses that I know. She is super smart and has a lot of common nursing sense. I am so proud and honored to get to work with her and to call her a friend.
