Chelsea Hodson helped make my delivery the best it could be.
Chelsea Hodson helped make my delivery the best it could be. If it wasn't for her, I would probably not have been able to deliver my baby. When the OB midwife wasn't able to help me find a good position, Chelsea gave me examples of variations to try without being pushy. When I needed motivation and encouragement at the end of my delivery, she was right there helping me to breathe. When I fainted trying to get into the wheelchair, she caught me and made sure I did not get injured. Her compassion and care for both my health and my baby were first-class. She goes above and beyond to take care of her patients. I will truly never forget my birthing experience and the positive impact she had on my husband, my baby, and my life. Thank you again, Chelsea!

I recently had the pleasure of going into Duke Regional Hospital's Labor and Delivery department to receive care and deliver my first child. As someone who is in a same-sex marriage, I am always wary and cautious of the trouble or discrimination we may face when going through public events.

From the moment we entered our Labor and Delivery room, our nurse - Chelsea White Hodson - made us feel extremely comfortable, and even inspired us to get excited for this great milestone in our lives. Chelsea's ability to provide the greatest medical care, while also creating a personal bond and relationship, is something that is truly powerful within a nurse. I think it is a great feat for a nurse to make a first-time laboring mom feel "at home" in the hospital.

We loved our experience with Chelsea so much, we even had her cut our son's cord. My laboring experience was a dream, but I also had the unfortunate experience of a traumatic and painful after-birth incident. After giving birth to my son and having the epidural wear off, I had excruciating pain and knew something was wrong. As my nurse, Chelsea always believed and validated my pain, and took corrective measures to address my pain. Chelsea Hodson was vital in my healing process as a familiar and trusted face.

We left Duke Regional Hospital with a lifelong friend, who happens to be an extremely talented nurse. I've always heard people say that sometimes in life, people really find what their passion is; it is our opinion that Chelsea White Hodson has found her calling as a compassionate, benevolent, and expert Labor and Delivery Nurse.
