This was a very difficult time for us as first-time parents and all through this journey Lisa was really helpful and supportive.
My daughter was born at 27 weeks 3 days and was in the NICU for 6 weeks before she was moved to the special care nursery. Lisa was her nurse quite often and was extremely loving and caring. This was a very difficult time for us as first-time parents and all through this journey Lisa was really helpful and supportive.

There were times when I was just numb due to the situation and other times I was crying hysterically as I had no control over the situation and the uncertainty was really getting to me. Lisa was always on her toes and would answer all my questions. Even the words she used were so relieving. I remember a few times I called to check on my daughter and Lisa would say “hey I’ll go hang out with X (my daughter).” It might sound like nothing to other folks but for me, it meant a lot. I had a low milk supply and Lisa would make sure she extracted every single drop from those tiny bottles that I gave and she would say “I know what a single drop means to you and I will make sure each and every drop is given to X.”

She would often leave notes like “I love you Mom” and turn on the camera so when I looked at my daughter, I would see it and feel happy. It’s the little things that she did that helped my husband and I get through this difficult time. I also liked how Lisa would always talk to me using my name and not the generic “mom” and would talk about my husband using his name as well. It showed she cared and paid attention to tiny details. The time in NICU was the most difficult time of our life but Lisa helped in every way possible to make it better for us. Thank you, Lisa.
