She understood my desire to get home to my other children and was very sympathetic to my feelings of wanting to return home.
Chelsea was extremely caring during our stay and after I found out I was having to possibly stay longer due to high blood pressure, when I was just wanting to be home. Chelsea didn’t make me feel crazy for not wanting to stay another night. She understood my desire to get home to my other children and was very sympathetic to my feelings of wanting to return home. She talked through exactly what was happening while performing her duties. I noticed Chelsea’s language was comforting. Rather than saying “I’m going to check your vitals.”, Chelsea would say “Is it okay for me to check your vitals?” It made me feel more in control of my care since I was consenting rather than being told what was going to take place. When I was discharged and left the hospital, I wish I could have hugged her and thanked her for understanding my needs, and for treating myself, my husband, my toddler, and my new baby so well, and with such wholehearted care.
