I'd like to recognize an outstanding nurse, Danielle, who really did her due diligence to ensure excellent patient care and safety. A patient had called in the morning (before her shift) and reported absent fetal movement and was advised to come to be evaluated. Danielle took over triage later in the afternoon and realized this patient never showed up, so she called her back and relayed the urgency of coming to be evaluated. After speaking with Danielle, she did come in and the baby was noted to be in distress (category II tracing). Danielle was so professional in her communication with the patient and communicating her concerns to the MD team. Even when her concerns were being dismissed by the MD team, she utilized the TEAM steps approach and was able to ensure proper care of the patient. The patient ended up being delivered later that evening at 29 weeks. If it were not for Danielle, it could have been a very different, sad outcome for the baby. Proud to work with such an outstanding nurse like Danielle!
