Thank you, Hayley, for pushing me, making me feel comfortable, and mostly for dealing with my pain and emotions through this time.
I first want to start off by saying how much of a kindhearted and genuine person Hayley is. She doesn’t do her job because she has to. She put genuine care into me. This was a rough time, to say the least, for me, but Hayley made me feel like I was safe and cared about through it all. Hayley made me feel like their brother. Not only did she take care of me and show love, but she also pushed me through the tough times and assured me everything was going to be okay. Hayley would see me upset at 3-4 in the morning and would sit and comfort me. It was clear and obvious that she was doing what she was out of love and kindness. It’s not easy to be stuck in the ICU, and really want to go home, but when you have a nurse like Hayley who makes it feel like they are doing their best, that you’re at home. Hayley made it easy to trust her from the beginning. It’s not every day that you get an 18-year-old patient with blood clots who needs to get his leg amputated. But the way Hayley stepped in and treated me is beyond something I will never forget. Thank you, Hayley, for pushing me, making me feel comfortable, and mostly for dealing with my pain and emotions through this time. I will truly never forget you and will always be part of my story going forward.
