In a hospital full of compassionate nurses Carrie is exceptional in the best way. She was my mom’s nurse during a period when I was going through some trouble after surgery. It was a sorry time for me as I didn’t know if I would ever be able to recover to my old self again and I didn’t want to come across as a bother by asking for help all the time to the nurses. Carrie was exceptional in both aspects cheering me on every day and was doing a great job. At one point I was discouraged by the swelling at the surgical site and wondered when it would subside. Carrie must have seen the look on my face and leaned into care to let me know it will be okay and that it will get better. The compassion in her eyes alone was enough for me to believe her. The kindness she showed to me that day moves me to tears when I think of it more. Carrie somehow made a very frightening medical experience enjoyable anytime she was around and I am forever grateful for that.
