I’m sorry. It’s a few months late but nonetheless, the time has not changed my appreciation and love for all the support, care, and love Sanita showed me while I was in the unit. I was there for nearly 5 weeks and during my entire stay, Sanita went above and beyond. Even when I wasn’t assigned to her, she would check in and make sure I was doing ok. Sanita has so much respect for her patients and has a fierce and professional way of advocating for her patients.

There were countless times I felt vulnerable and like I didn’t have a voice, but Sanita always advocated for me, guided me in how to advocate for myself, and made sure my needs were met daily. Sanita was very responsible, she kept track of everything on my chart and made sure to give me physical checkups every time she was assigned to me. Sanita demonstrated compassion towards me by always motivating me, listening to me, and helping me feel seen/heard. She did this when she could see that I clearly missed my family and since I couldn’t see them due to the regulations, she made sure to often ask management if there were any changes. One day when I really really needed it prior to my c-section, she gave me a comforting hug.

Sanita is one of a kind. I admire her work. She is truly in the nursing field for the right reasons and is an example for everyone to follow. I miss her smile and the joy she’d bring into my room every time she’d walk in! I hope she is doing well. The twins and I are doing great. Thank you Sanita for being part of my journey to motherhood and caring for my babies and me. My baby boy continues to be a kicker and my baby girl continues to be the less-kicking type lol.
