The patient writes in her DAISY nomination that the "difference" was the small things. Daphne Gentil, Registered Nurse, did the small things to ensure every patient knows quality healthcare. Daphne gained the title of being the "pudding nurse". Her patient writes about Daphne listening to her needs and even the simple request for pudding. Daphne, always doing the big things and the small things for her patients, got the patient her pudding. Patients know that Daphne listens to them. Patients know that Daphne wants them to be as comfortable as possible during a frightening hospitalization. Patients know that Daphne cares not just for them but Daphne cares "about" them.

Daphne has been a member of the Memorial Hospital West since her time as a Patient Care Associate. Daphne stood out among her team. Gaining more knowledge, attending college for her Registered Nurse degree, and working in patient care, it was obvious to all that Daphne was the future of Nursing. As a new nurse, she quickly learned the "big things" about quality care, but never forgot to also provide the "small things" to meet the patients' needs. Daphne is a DAISY Nurse.
