Her tenacity, medical knowledge, and communication skills helped to facilitate a crucial test to be done, in addition to connecting all parties concerned.
Ms. Lindsay Marsicek was my day nurse on the ICU unit once, after being there for five days. She happened to be there the day I was discharged, one of the most stressful days of my inpatient experience. My physical health seemed to improve but quickly became unstable on the anticipated day of discharge. There were several departments involved with my care and all of them were not able to connect. After Ms. Marsicek assessed the situation, she had an idea about why my condition was unstable. Her tenacity, medical knowledge, and communication skills helped to facilitate a crucial test to be done, in addition to connecting all parties concerned. Due to Ms. Marsicek’s suggestion and I was discharged appropriately.
It is obvious that Ms. Marsicek meets all the requirements, and more, for the DAISY Award. Her medical knowledge, capacity for patience, tenacity, care, concern, and ability to connect with patients are what make her one of the best nurses I have ever encountered.
