I want Lisa to know how she put my worry to rest
Lisa made me feel like I could tell her anything! The first night she took care of me I looked a mess because I was in so much pain and shock from the doctor telling me that I probably had multiple myeloma in my spine. My hair was so tangled and matted. She could tell that I was distressed and she offered to sit with me. She sat down and just started talking to me like I was a sister. Then she began to brush my hair.

I hadn’t had my hair brushed by another person since my mother did it for me as a child. I can’t tell you how emotional I became. She sat with me, comforting me until I felt better. The next night she came in and pulled rubber bands out of her pocket and said, “How about I make you beautiful now?” She braided my hair beautifully and once again showed me so much compassion and emotional support. I want this hospital to know how special she is and to know that if I don’t make it longer in this world, she made a difference for me in my moments of grief and sadness. I want her to know how she put my worry to rest
