I don’t think I would have made it through my son’s stay if it wasn’t for her. She was the light in the dark.
My son D was diagnosed with Covid-19 at 2 months of age in 2022. He was on a ventilator in the PICU for 6 days. Kristi DeVito was the nurse we had the most during his stay. She is the most amazing nurse I have ever met in my life. She has been an absolute blessing to our family. I don’t think I would have made it through my son’s stay if it wasn’t for her. She was the light in the dark. She was my friend when I needed a friend. She talked me through every procedure and explained every process to me. The thing I will never forget, though, is she picked up an extra shift and sacrificed one of her days off to be there when D was taken off the ventilator. I would not have been as calm as I was without her in the room. I just don’t have enough words to say how thankful I am for her. My baby boy is turning ONE soon and I often think that without Kristi and the rest of the PICU staff, he would not be here to celebrate with us. Thank you, Kristi. You mean so much to us.
