Being on a ventilator is scary enough, but Randi was able to treat her like the beautiful soul she is and not just a body in the bed.
My 84 y/o “mom” and family member has been in this unit for 31 days. Randi was her caregiver for several nights during her stay. My mom had so many ups and downs and twists and turns which made leaving at the end of the day the hardest! From the first night, she assured me that she would be watching her closely for me and she did! From playing Michael Bublé (her favorite) during bath time, to speaking to her with such love and kindness. Being on a ventilator is scary enough, but Randi was able to treat her like the beautiful soul she is and not just a body in the bed. She has not always been assigned to care for her, but each night she made a point to see me and asked how she was doing and asked me how I am doing. She explained procedures and her progress, she stopped in each night that she worked to chat with her and would get a big smile from her. She has been such an incredible gift to my mom and to me. The peace I have is doubled when she is on duty. Last night, I was in my mom's room and the alarms were going off. Her nurse was with another patient, but in came Randi. She said that she was watching her, and all was under control. Thank you, Randi!
