She made sure he was comfortable with what she was doing and spoke so kindly to him.
Elizabeth was my youngest son’s nurse when he came in from the ambulance ride. He had tested positive for RSV and his oxygen levels were low. Liz came in with such a positive attitude and reassured me that my boy was going to be okay. She made sure RT was there to get him hooked up. She seriously went above and beyond to make sure not only her patient but his mama (me) was good. She kept me up to date on what was going on until she did shift change.
Fast forward a week: my OLDEST son tested positive for RSV. We brought him in due to shortness of breath and Liz was our nurse again. I knew we would be in great hands from that point on. Once again, she made sure my boy was all set and had what he needed. He’s a nonverbal 2-year-old, and she made sure he was comfortable with what she was doing and spoke so kindly to him. Of course, she reassured me that he was going to be okay and was on top of her game even when the emergency room was chaotic.
She is such an inspiration to me, as I am a nursing student. Her bedside manner was incredible, and she was such a role model without even noticing it. Thank you for taking care of my boys. Such an amazing nurse!
