She’s always reassured me that I’ve made the right decision bringing our children in.
Marissa received two individual nominations:
1. Marissa has taken care of 3 of our 4 children and each time has been so caring and comforting to not only them but my husband and I as well. When we brought our 1-year-old in for a head injury, she took the time to not only assess his injury, but to do it slowly and in such a playful manner his tears stopped and he even cracked a smile. When our 8-year-old was seen, she described everything she was doing and was about to do which put my daughter's mind at ease and helped her relax. The nurse also offered additional information and suggestions to us to help us comfort our child’s injury / issue at home. She’s always reassured me that I’ve made the right decision bringing our children in and I wish all the nurses were as kind, comforting, and informative as she is!
2. This is our second visit with Marissa at the Emergency Room today with my daughter, and previously with my son. Although it has been 2 years since our last visit, I recognized Marissa right away. When we were here before with my son, she was amazing, as he suffers with anxiety and he was scared and unsure. She put all of us at ease. If there is a good ER visit, that was it. She is an amazing nurse with a lot of compassion and patience. You are lucky to have her.
