Tiffany Halstead has been my nurse manager for well over a year. From the moment I met her, I could tell she was an avid listener. She earned my trust effortlessly. Throughout the past year, she has coached me from PCT to RN and has always encouraged me to keep on going. There were times along the way that felt overwhelming, but she always kept open ears and an open heart. As a leader, she inspires growth with her story. She started as an RN at a local hospital and worked her way up into leadership there before joining us here at Mayo and she is the perfect fit. Nurse leaders like her deserve to be recognized for their continued efforts as nurses. Tiffany continues to fulfill nurse roles with her staff. She has been our advocate, our teacher, our leader, and our counselor. I want to thank her for everything she has done for me. When I came to 5 South, I did not have any PCT experience, but Tiffany saw past that and focused on the traits that could make me a great PCT and an even better nurse. Thanks to her motivation I am now a proud Neuro nurse. She has done everything she can to make her staff feel special and appreciated whether that is buying staff lunch, putting together nurse appreciation gifts, lending a hand to us on the floor, or just listening to us vent. It takes a special kind of person to lead with heart and care! It takes a nurse!
